Moore, elevates local voices through open conversations with leaders, educators, policymakers, political leaders, religious leaders, rising leaders, and law enforcement to shed light on issues that communities in Atlanta, Georgia face. It addresses topics, such as leadership, business, mental health, parenting, poverty, race, civic engagement, justice, social work, and more. Since 2013, Shanequa’s nonprofit, I’RAISE Girls & Boys International, has been on the ground transforming the way children & families of color are seen, heard, and treated. From pain to triumph, we seek to capture the “behind the scenes” experiences of ATL community members and collectively re-imagine an Atlanta community that represents a place of equity, power, and prominence for Black children and families.

Meet 8-year-old Skylar Renee. She is one of I’RAISE’s entrepreneurial kids, a bright, intelligent and talented young girl who has already accomplished so much in such little time. She shares wisdom for everyone that's worth hearing in this episode, from self-care to self-confidence to growing up.
About Skylar:
After spending almost a year in the foster care system after her father passed away, Skylar was then adopted by her paternal grandmother. Spending her earlier years in California, she is now continuing her amazing journey in Georgia where her achievements have been nothing short of amazing. Skylar is a talented dancer that has been named the youngest dance apprentice by Thomas Academy, a talented actor, being currently nominated for the Rising Star Award for her role as Pinky in the film Prevailing Love written by Kimberly DeWitt and was even the youngest announcer with the Little Miss African American pageant in Los Angeles California.
